Review title of DustinBeats print books, but could stand improvement.

While the software is a bit clunky, it still beats paying for printed books (& paper waste). It could use a lot of refinement though. •When reading, there should be an option to have the book content take up the entire application window - with a mouse-over or click to bring the menu up. •Better control of margins & text size (the new options in v8.3 are nice, but still too much margin, & need a couple more smaller text sizes). I work from a laptop and I have good eyes, I really need the text to be smaller for productivity. (Ctrl & +/- works for text, but doesn't help margins)•Loading issues vary by book, depending on what the actual book contents are inside of the .vbk file (PDF, epub, images, etc). Since you can't access the contents (for DRM reasons), it's hard to know which ones are going to be laggy. •Lastly, like most other apps, this could use a full-app 'dark mode'. Not just the book content, but the interface.Overall, it's not a terrible app, it mostly does what I need.

I would suggest you to install the app in a compatibility mode and check if it helps.

Compatibility mode runs the program using settings from a previous version of Windows.

Follow these steps to install the drivers in compatibility mode and check if that helps.

a. Download the driver from the manufacturer’s website.

b. Right-click on the driver setup file and click on ‘properties’.

c. Click on the ‘compatibility’ tab and check the box ‘Run this program in compatibility mode for’ and select Windows (Previous operating system) operating system from the drop down menu and proceed with the installation. Once this is done, restart the computer and check if the issue persists.

I too had the same issue. Solving this issue actually had nothing to do with Windows or its compatibility (even though Windows told me that the program was incompatible). The issue may be with your account on VitalSource, as it only allows you to have the program installed on maximum 2 computers at a time. Simply log into your account online, go to the profile icon in the top right corner, and click on devices. This will show you how many devices you have the program installed on. If there are two computers on the list you will need to deactivate at least one of them. This solved the problem for me and I am now able to use the application. Hope this helps.

Thank you; this worked. I have written back to VitalSource that the Windows application should have provided a message with that info. I hope they take care of the issue.

You are correct. Once I signed in online and removed one of the other computers from the account I was able to sign in just fine on my new computer. You are allowed to download it onto 2 computer and 2 Tablets or phones a t any one time. Thank you for posting this information.

I am having this issue but, it is not because of compatibility, it keeps saying it just stopped working. I checked all my accounts with this and it only has one computer device and this is the first account with this school but, I am having this issue where it just will not open on desktop version.
