Rated 5 out of 5 by Jacoban55 from Different & GoodJust got done playing this one, and I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed it. The graphics were excellent, the music was tremendous being theme and place specific. That's always a plus - helps to immerse a player into the game. The storyline was good I thought, though some of the dialog was a little weak. On that note, I have to say that I've only played Tree of LIfe and really enjoyed that, but I am totally unfamiliar with this story. That was handled well in the opening scenes - you were given the background information and brought up to speed.Gameplay - very good, very smooth. It was very different than most other adventure/HO type games. There were diamonds to find in every scene and they were used to skip puzzles. I am not a fan of slider puzzles, so I skipped them. I did have some issues with the tiles for the mural. I didn't know how to get them to show the correct picture in order to move forward with the game. I went looking for help and didn't find any - just a bunch of grousers on the boards about how the game was unplayable and a 'no buy' - bah! Oh well I found out: you have to double click (rather rapidly) the tile and it will flip over even if there are several connected. Once I found that out - with no help from the solution guide that was given in the game - I was good to go. Everytime I opened the game I was asked about my screen size and had the graphics confirmed - that was kind of odd. May have been able to change that in options somewhere, but never found out - just hit ok and kept it moving.Things I liked: I liked that the mini-games didn't close when I was done. Sometimes I had forgotten to get the diamonds and that gave me a chance to go back and look for them. It also gave me a chance to admire the graphics some more - they were really very good and detailed. I especially liked the 'vision' and being Queen of Sheba - that whole aside was very necessary to the story (though I didn't know it at the time), and was quite good. The attention to detail for that part of the game was tremendous: the hint 'button' changed from a pen to an ivory horn; the time clock changed from a clockface to a sundial of sorts; the menu button changed to a tile with a salamandar on it. The music also changed and was time period and place specific. I just loved that.I also liked the mixture with the HOS: we had regular ones with a list, then we had ones with shadows of what we needed to find, but the shadows were not the list - they were actually what we were looking for. The list itself consisted of pictures, and the scene held the shadows of those pictures. Nice twist. There were also find the differences, and I have to say that while I like these, the ones in this game were a bit strange. You literally had to play them without thinking because if you thought about it you would wonder where to two pictures actually divided and which side was which. The pictures were not exact mirror images of each other - one side was larger (i.e., showed more scenery) than the other side and so I'm clicking away on stuff that shows on one side but not the other and nothing's happening and I can't figure out why. (by the way, there is an over clicking penalty!) I eventually got the hang of it, but I can't say I enjoyed it too much.I liked that there was plenty to do in the game: not just find stuff, solve stuff, and get out. There was a fair amount of 'back and forth' but the scenery and the mission you were on made all that ok.Things I didn't like: the game was just too short - well it seemed as if it was. I think I was just enjoying it so much that it seemed that way. I had about 40 diamonds at the end, so I didn't have to use them all..wish I could've gotten them over here on the real side! :o) Didn't like that harp puzzle. Ew. Sort of a Simon type thing - but it was hard to follow it for me. One diamond used. I found that I was a little disappointed in the HOS towards the end. They began to be junky and full of inconsequential things.Wasn't much I didn't like about the game - the ending could've been a bit more fleshed out. It didn't make much sense to me and that could've been because I didn't play the games in order. Not sure, but it was a bit abrupt and kind of corny (carried that weapon thru the whole game only to use it at the very end!)Overall, though, a great game. It's different - be warned. But it's a good different and I think it's good to twist the 'usual' stuff so that it's not just the same 'run of the miill' boredom.I recommend the game if you want something different and that will make you use your noggin.Keep up the good work!
